Generally speaking the photos and videos should be just in the 'Pictures' folder if you connected via USB. Once opened, you should be able to copy all of your photos/videos from kindles internal memory to the SD card. But if not, get any file manager app from Amazon app store. In order to prevent dark lines from appearing on your images, you will have to zip your ebook file by the use of Winzip or similar. I think these kindles have a built in file manager app. Expand the Portable device category in the Device Manager window, and then right-click the Kindle driver and select Update Driver. Right-click the Start menu and select Device Manager from the context menu. You can upload your ebook onto Kindle for PC (a free Kindle previewer that can be downloaded from Amazon onto your computer) and then view your ebook to ensure the images and text is formatted correctly. To fix Kindle not showing up on PC, you can try installing the Kindle as an MTP device. Make sure the image quality is good before inserting the pictures into the ebook, and also that the text is perfectly worded.
I've searched online for answers, and most appear to apply to earlier versions, and tell me to uncheck the 'icon only, no thumbnail' choice in ViewOptions, but that is already. My folders are appearing as blank folder icons, where in Win 10 they showed thumbnail previews of the contents. The secret is to stick to simple software programmes, namely Word.doc and Pictures. Windows 11: Thumbnail previews do not show on folders. Creating a picture book for Kindle is a little more involved than a text only book.
